Rowing

College is proud to offer rowing as a co-curriucular activity.  Rowing is open to students in Year 7 – 12 students and is held in Term 4 and Term 1.  Last week I met with students interest in rowing at College and I have attached the information in case your child missed the meeting and is interested in being part of the Rowing club.  If you have any questions about rowing and what is involved, please feel free to contact me.

If your child would like to join, please complete the attached form and email it to admin@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au.

Our College Rowing Club really is an inclusive and supportive family.

Basketball

While we unfortunately sit through another lockdown and pause from basketball can I please get you and your child to read the information below, discuss and fill out the attached form for next season’s basketball.

With not long to go in the season, please confirm if tour child will be playing in the new spring/summer season which begins early Term 4 and continues into March 2022 (near the end of Term 1). If they have lots of other summer sport or other commitments that will prevent them playing fulltime or they won’t be at College in 2022 it is best they don’t sign up into a team.

Importantly please note the new season “years of births” below for junior basketball as they changeover as per Basketball Victoria regulations at this time so this will mean some players go up an age group.

Under 10 - 2013/2014

Under 12 - 2011/2012

Under 14 - 2009/2010

Under 16 - 2007/2008

18 & Under - 2004/2005/2006

Please get in contact with myself at the senior campus or Simone at the junior campus if you have any other questions.

Men’s Hockey

The boys were lucky enough to get a game last Friday just before community sport was called off.  We recorded a 3-0 win over Couldabeens with Captain Ferg Roberts scoring a hat-trick. As we may have played our final game for the year, I thanked the boys for an enjoyable series of games.  We won five and lost three but most impressive was the development of the squad as a team and also their support for each other.  They have been a great group of young men to work with.

Most - Clancy, Jake, Euan, Kellan, Eren, Matt, Milo, Owen and Ferg - may have played their last game of school hockey.  I hope they keep playing wherever they end up in 2022.

I hope the others - Gabe, Finley, Tobe, Ted, Harry, Charley and Isaac - will be back on the field next year.

Many thanks to Sarah Roberts (and Sam on a couple of occasions!) for team managing and ensuring all the proper details were entered in the system each week.

If we get the chance to play again this year that will be great but, in case we don’t, thanks again, boys!

Thanks to Byron McMahon for helping us out in one game.
