Swimming

The annual Inter House Swimming Carnival will be held on Thursday 14th February at the Hamilton Outdoor Pool beginning at 9.30am.  I would be keen to hear from any parent, family member or community member who can volunteer their time to help timekeeping for part or all the day. Please contact me at the College on 5572 1355 or email lalexander@hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au .

Please note that there will be NO KIOSK FACILITY open on the day at the pool so students should have their own food and drink with them for the day but we have the ROX Coffee van booked in for the day and they will have some food for sale also. The College’s best swimmers will then compete at the Glenelg Division(GD) Swimming Sports next Thursday the 21st February at the Hamilton Outdoor Pool. A reminder that every Year 7-12 student is welcome to attend Swimming training on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4-5pm at the Hamilton Outdoor Pool and the occasional Thursday mornings at HILAC from 7-8am.

Cricket

The College Cricket Club is holding a Pink Stumps Day on February 10th to help make life that little bit easier for individuals and families experiencing breast cancer.

The College Cricket Club Womens team will play against the Pigeon Ponds Cricket Club at the College School Turf Oval from 12:00pm.

A breast cancer diagnosis changes your life, often in ways you wouldn’t expect. The impact can be felt right through your family and friends. As much as you try, the diagnosis, the treatment and the disease can take over your life.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses bring you and your family peace of mind through expert knowledge, personal care and genuine compassion. They can help you create time in your life not defined by breast cancer.

That's why we would love your support in Pinking Up and fundraising to help place specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses, wherever they're needed.

Together, we can make a difference!

If you would like to donate to our day please do so on the link

Basketball News

Over the weekend, several College students participated in the Portland Basketball Tournament as members of Hamilton Basketball Squad teams. It is a great achievement for these students to be selected, and we wish to congratulate them on their efforts. This was a successful tournament for Hamilton teams, with several teams making finals, including the Under 16 Boys’ A team (containing Ted Koch) which won their final.

Congratulations to the following students for their involvement – Ted Koch, Jason Hawker, Izack Mayfield, Christian te Boekhorst, Jock Barrie, Bayley te Boekhorst, Toby Barrie, Nick Hoskyns, George Huf, Jedah Huf and Lily McLeod.

Basketball teams have been sent out to all players, coaches and managers via email or hard copy note (for Junior School students). Coaches will be in contact regarding when training will be. All players must complete their online registration before Monday 11th February to ensure they are eligible to take the court for their first game. If players do not complete their registration at least 48 hours before the first game, they will not be able to take the court. If you have any problems with this, please contact Miss Brabham by email or HBA direct at hjba@bigpond.com

If you require a uniform, the uniform shop has a list of numbers to avoid clashes within teams. They are open Tuesdays and Thursdays (check times).

Juniors (Under 10 and Under 12) – Friday 15th February

Juniors  (Under 14 and Under 16) – Monday 18th February
