Principal's Report

The anticipation of discovering new possibilities is my greatest joy.  Jerry Uelsman

Welcome back with the exciting news that we have commenced our final term with 495 students, our highest student enrolment since 2015!  Like the American photographer Uelsman, I always enjoy the start of a new term for it brings joy, hope and optimism.  Our final student/parent/staff interviews were well attended and our first assembly provided an important opportunity to set the benchmark high for academic attainment this term. VCE exams commence at the end of the month and Year 7-11 Examinations start in late November and conclude in early December.

I am pleased with the functionality of our new mid length socks and the students are supportive of the latest addition to the summer school uniform.  I remind all families they have two more weeks to update before ‘Principal’s detentions’ will be imposed for wearing long socks.  I also advise that a new summer shirt for boys will be available after Christmas that enables our boys to wear a tie, jumper and blazer to and from school while simultaneously wearing it as open neck shirt during the day as temperatures rise.  I strongly suggest that families hold off on purchasing any new summer shirts until January 2019.  Existing shirts may be worn until the end of 2019.

Please be aware of the following important dates over the next fortnight:

Friday 12 October               VCE Studio Arts & Visual Communication Design Exhibition

Monday 15 October            Year 9 Camp departs

Friday 19 October               Year 12 Old Collegians’ Luncheon & Presentation

Thursday 25 October          Year 12 Final Assembly, Year 12 Chapel Service & Dinner

Friday 26 October               Year 12 Breakfast, 148th Senior School Speech Day

I look forward to sharing these final important months together as we seek the best for and from every student at College.
