Welcome to Years 10, 11 & 12
10 coordinator: Ashleigh Greaves
I hope you have all had a safe and happy start to the year.
I am very pleased to be the Year 10 Coordinator for 2020 and look forward to greeting our returning and new students on Thursday. Many of us are already familiar, having either shared Physical and Health Education classes or Wollangarra camp memories together. To others, I may be an entirely new face - but please know you are always welcome to drop by and have a chat, ask for advice or an ear to listen. If I am not in my office you will likely find me outside for PE in/around the Cage or teaching DP Language & Literature upstairs in Kalimna Gallery.
As our Year 10s enter this new chapter of their personal and academic journeys, I will be whole-heartedly committed to supporting and guiding them towards becoming self-motivated, kind and ethical young adults who feel confident dealing with the wide world ahead of them.
I look forward to establishing strong relationships with the students and families of our cohort and continue building deep connections with all other members in the wider Preshil community.
My office is the small one on the ground floor of Blackhall, at the end of the hallway and next to the staff room, shared with Kris Austin. Please feel free to contact me about anything, or drop in any time.

11 coordinator: Caterina Pacitti
I am absolutely thrilled to be back at Preshil so soon after teaching many of the Year 11s in Term 1 last year, and I look forward to building a stronger relationship with them this year.
My aim for the coming weeks is to support the cohort in their transition into the Diploma Programme, which for many can be an unsettling time. I believe that the key to success in the senior years at school is to find balance, form community and discover what brings us joy in learning. It is also a time to begin to think about who and what we really care about and to use this as motivation throughout the year.
I share an office with Linda Kay downstairs in Kalimna. Students should feel free to drop by at any time, and parents are always welcome to call or email me with their questions or concerns.

This is an exciting time for Year 12 as they complete their final year of the IB Diploma Programme at Preshil. It’s a busy and important academic year - and it goes fast - so we will need to focus on supporting the students to achieve their personal best, as well as managing time and stress.
Last year I worked with all of the students for Theory of Knowledge classes and of course had many interactions with regard to the DP curriculum. I believe the collaboration between parents, students and teachers is vital in this final year of secondary education.
I am situated downstairs in Kalimna. I have met most of you already, and I look forward to meeting all of you at the information night.

Year 10 Home Group
Home Group begins promptly at 8.50am. Ideally, all students should arrive at school around 8.30am to give themselves enough time to be organised for an 8.50am start.
Home Group is an important part of the day to welcome students, make connections, frame the day's learning, ensure that essential information is shared and, importantly, to mark the first roll of the day.
