Welcome to Years 7, 8 & 9

7 coordinator: Phuong Tran

This year I have the privilege of being the Year 7 Coordinator. I share an office with Kris Vestermark in the Academy room upstairs in Blackhall. 

As Coordinator, I hope to foster a safe and friendly environment where students feel they can challenge themselves and try their best; and empower students to become active contributors in their school community.

I am very excited to be taking on the role of Year 8 Coordinator for Term 1 while Chris Dite is on leave.

During this period my goal is to support the Year 8 cohort to establish a great start to the year and I look forward to seeing new and returning faces on Thursday.

9 coordinator: Kat Girbau

I am thrilled to be the Coordinator for Year 9 for 2020. This year is often characterised by developing friendships; as such, my goal for our cohort is to foster respectful relationships and clear communication. I also aim to encourage students’ participation in creativity, activity and service pursuits in preparation for the Personal Project and later the Diploma Programme. 

We have a great team supporting our Year 9 this year too. Home Group teachers will play an active role in their students’ wellbeing, adding to our amazing support network here at Preshil.

I am available via email, phone or you can always make a time to come and see me. My office is upstairs in Blackhall.

Home Group

Home Group begins promptly at 8.50am. Ideally, all students should arrive at school around 8.30am to give themselves enough time to be organised for an 8.50am start.

Home Group is an important part of the day to welcome students, make connections, frame the day's learning, ensure that essential information is shared and, importantly, to mark the first roll of the day.
