Lest we forget
Look at the wordle and consider where you fit. We are all in here somewhere. It doesn't matter who you are or what you do. When we work together as one we are a powerful community.
At IPS we want to work with you for the benefit of every child. Join us!
Leo has been busy putting up the streamers and filling the bbq bottles for Saturday. The students in the bands have been practicing like mad. There is a positive hum of energy around the school and a sense that the weekend will afford us all an opportunity to relax with family and friends and enjoy the biennial school fair. The stalls, food vans and rides are all ready to arrive on site prior to 12pm Saturday but if you're just keen to pack a picnic and come sit on the grass and enjoy some music you can do that too.
Many teachers and staff will join the festivities but please remember it is up to families to manage their own children on the day. I'm sure they will behave themselves and have fun but please watch them as the rides and other activities pose their own challenges to safety and staff are not on duty.
Fair volunteers
The Fair is fast approaching and it is wonderful to see a favourable weather report. The organisation of this event requires the help of many volunteers.
We will need helpers on Friday afternoon to set up and on Monday morning to pack away.
If you can help during one or both of these times please phone Cat Atkinson (Fair Convenor) on 0421 176 673.
Next Monday's Assembly Cancelled
Due to packing up Monday morning there will not be an assembly. Stars of the Week will be recognised the following Monday (25th November).

Check out the bargains available on the Silent Auction site. There are still a couple of class masterpieces without an opening bid.

This week the Year 4s participated in the final of four interactive concerts developed to teach politics, history and a general love of music. Here is a short video of the afternoon. The music begins about 30 seconds in.
Thank you to the families who came along and helped clean up our school in readiness for this Saturday's School Fair. Thank you to students, Hugo M, Will J, Inez VG, Thomas VG, Luca VG, Andrew V, Thomas V, Naton B and Tom R for joining in and lending a hand.
At Monday's assembly students were encouraged to present to the school their thinking on the subject of Remembrance Day. Some spoke of the history, others shared their feelings and some of our Year 4 students shared rhyming couplets that they had developed using the day as inspiration. You'll find the couplets on the Student News page.

An integral part of the Fair is the Silent Auction – accounting for a large portion of all funds raised with each fair. These funds go towards updating school facilities and educational opportunities and experiences for our students. Many thanks to local businesses and community members for their generous donations.
If a stall has this sign you will know that vouchers are accepted.
I would like to acknowledge the hard work of all the teachers, education, and admin staff. Also all the volunteers, the unsung heroes that keep the additional activities going and our grounds in good shape. Ivanhoe Primary School is an outstanding school and is governed by a dedicated school council.
Welcome to IPS.
