Term 4 is a Sunsmart term

Just a reminder that Term 4 is a Sunsmart Term and hats need to be worn outside for play and lessons.

PLEASE name your hats. We do not have spares, and we do not share hats.

Students must wear their own, wide-brimmed hat or stay undercover.

Can you please also remember a named drink bottle.

DET Scholarships

Scholarships are payments to help you with the cost of your child's education.

They're generally offered based on:

  • financial need or difficulties
  • your child's school results
  • school and community activities your child takes part in.

Most scholarships that DET offer are for Victorian government school students. A small number are also open to non-government school students.

For more information including how to apply please go to this link: https://www.education.vic.gov.au/parents/learning/Pages/student-scholarships.aspx

Please note: applications for future scholarships open again on 20th September 2021 and usually close early in the following year. Closing dates are strictly enforced.

2021 PREP CSEF UNIFORM PACKAGE EXTENDED

Due to the prolonged lockdown in Term 3, 2021 we have extended the 2021 Prep CSEF uniform package until the end of Term 4, 2021.

This means that any families/carers that have not yet submitted their forms can still do so until the end of this term.

Hopefully this means that these kids will have the items they need to get back to school.  All the information for these packages can be found on our website here.

Please contact the school office for more details.

Tips taken from the Department of Education site

  1. Practise the journey to and from school
  2. Arrange play dates with families who will have kids at the same school
  3. Encourage independence – skills like dressing, packing and carrying a bag, applying sunscreen and going to the toilet
  4. Label all belongings
  5. Talk about and practise any after school arrangements
  6. Check start and finish times and where to drop off and collect your child
  7. Be positive, get your child excited, and talk about any worries they have
  8. Visit a library and read with your child
  9. Start using the name of their new teacher to help build familiarity
  10. Establish predictable routines including dinner, bath time and bed time

  • Show your child where the school is and talk about how you will get there.
  • Arrange play times with other families whose children will be going to the same school. It helps if your child knows another child at their school at the start of prep.
  • Practise the things your child will need to do to get ready for school (e.g. putting things in their bag, remembering to take a hat).
  • Confirm your before or after school care arrangements and explain these to your child.
  • Be positive about starting school and enjoy your child’s excitement.
  • Visit your local library and read books with your child about starting school.

It's nearly that time again!

This year we plan to use Compass for parent permissions and parent payments.

We will notify families when this is ready to go live - but the permission forms for local walks, movies etc will be included.
