Principal's Message

                                                                     Mrs Josie Crisara

As we welcomed backed all students last week, returning to a school routine has been positive, although has required some readjusting for some.  The positive vibe generated from face-to-face teaching and learning, working and interacting has created a buzz and a spring in one’s step.

The Parents and Friends Committee ran a successful pre-loved uniform sale last weekend and I thank them for their tireless efforts in supporting the school community. Funds raised will go towards building another barbeque in the Kitchen Garden precinct and supporting the Parents and Friends Arts Scholarship.

The Visual Arts and Design show (online) was enthusiastically supported and there was great work on show.  Thank you to the students who were keen to show their work and the Visual Arts, Design, Media and Food Studies teachers and assistants for their hard work in putting the online show together.

At this time of the year we are making preparations for 2022.  The Year 7 2022 Orientation for students and Parent evening have been held and the Prep 2022 transition to school program will commence in the next week with a few visits to school. Step Up day for students in Prep to Year 9 will occur on December 9 when the students will find out their homeroom teachers for next year, and we welcome the additional new students in the primary and middle school. Early Commencement for the current Year 10 and 11 students will be in the weeks of 22 November to 3 December, straight after exams.

Works on the new building for Years 3-6 and specialist primary areas is continuing with expected completion being the end of Term 1.  Arrangements have been made to accommodate the new classes in existing facilities, during Term 1.

Congratulations to Ms Kerrie Neophytou who has been appointed to Head of Campus at Wyndham Christian College, commencing 2022.  We thank her for the many years of service at the College, being a foundation staff member, a wonderful teacher and leader.  I know that students and families, past and present wish her well in her new endeavours. Mr Michael Cooper has been appointed to the new position of Director of Community Engagement at Aitken College.
