Lights, Camera, Pius!

The fifth annual St Pius X Film Festival is taking place next term. Once again it is a virtual festival. All young filmmakers are invited to submit their entries. Films should be no longer than 3 minutes and must have been made this year and can be about any theme; have been made as class projects; any genre such as comedy, documentary, horror, sci-fi, action, romance, animation etc - it must be General (G) Rated. There are prizes and awards on offer! This is a great way for the boys to occupy themselves in the holidays and calls for imagination and inventiveness. Films could be COVID-themed. It is great to see films made by students from all years. Further announcements and information will be made at Thursday form assemblies.

Congratulations to a young photographer

Congratulations to Zavier Domenici of Year 10 who has been selected as a finalist in the Willoughby Photo Editing Competition. Zavier edited historical photographs to create a whimsical take on sporting fun in years past. We wait with anticipation to hear how his entry will be placed!

Celebrate Reading:  Australian Reading Hour 2021

14 September is the day set by the National Reading Campaign to celebrate the joy of reading and the value of reading in our lives. Research shows that reading makes you smarter, healthier and happier. Read more about this day on the library’s website and see our featured ebooks; perfect for Australian Reading Hour or the coming school holidays.

Unwind these School Holidays with Clickview Movies & TV

Students can sign into ClickView during the school holidays to stream great content including Movies & TV shows. In addition, our school’s Books to Movies collection has over 250 films to further escape and unwind. The movies featured have a companion book in our school library as many boys like to see the movie and then read the book! Students can log in using their usual school computer logins to access content within their allowed rating.
