Literacy at St Joseph’s…….. How is it going?

At the beginning of the year we shared with you the “Scarborough's Reading Rope” which is displayed in our staffroom.  At St Joseph's we have been implementing word recognition and language comprehension skills into our daily literacy block.

Structured Literacy lessons include explicit, sequential, systematic and synthetic phonics approaches which help students to understand the cognitive processes that are essential for reading proficiency.
