Teaching & Learning 3E

LEARNING IN 3E
Term 3 has been a filled full of wonderful celebrations in Year 3. We have participated in swimming lessons, Book Week, including welcoming parents and grandparents into the classroom and recently dressed in a wildlife theme costume to raise money for a local wildlife animal sanctuary.

We have also been working on two major in-class projects this term. Firstly, we began exploring and learning about the history of many celebrations that take place all over the globe. Some of the celebrations that were studied included NAIDOC Week, Australia Day, Songkran in Thailand, the Diwali Light Festival, Children’s Day in Japan and many more. These studies linked closely with our inquiry unit ‘Community’. All term we have been learning what makes a successful and vibrant community. This unit has formed the second of our two class projects, where the students have been creating a fictitious suburb, EEE Estate (pronounced triple E estate). The students have been creating detailed histories about a chosen facility that play a vital role in our classroom community. We look forward to completing the final touches to this project over the final weeks of term.
