Canteen Review
This term, our Student Representative Council was tasked with completing a review of the new Canteen as part of our focus on Student Voice and Agency.
Student leaders worked together to design a survey, and then spent a week interviewing and surveying their peers outside the canteen and via student noticeboards. Over 200 students responded, giving a range of feedback about the food options and experience at the canteen. The SRC is reviewing their findings and will present to the School Council next term.
Leadership Training
Some of our Year 9 and 10 student leaders had the opportunity to participate in the Future Thinkers Workshop with the Australian Business and Community Network. Business mentors from FujiFilm worked with students via Zoom to brainstorm solutions for school-based issues using design thinking methodology.
House Representatives
Our House Leaders from Years 9-11 recently helped run the Edgars Creek Primary School Athletics Carnival. Students marshalled and supported a range of athletics events at the primary school including high jump, long jump, sprints, relay, discus and shot put. The students at ECPS were very grateful to our House Leaders for all their help and a wonderful day was had by all.
Edgars Creek's Got Talent
The Student Representative Council helped to plan and run the first-ever Edgars Creek's Got Talent show. Students from all year levels participated by performing, judging, setting up equipment, and cheering on their peers as they battled it out to be crowned the first champions of ECGT! Well done to everyone involved and thank you to all students who supported and made the event so successful. Thank you to teachers Amy, Cameron and Mustafa who volunteered their time and effort to make it such a special day for our students. We can't wait to do it all again!
Footy Colours Day
On the last day of term, students celebrated Footy Colours Day. The Fight Cancer Foundation’s Footy Colours Day is a national fundraising event to help kids with Cancer keep up with school and provide education support programs while they receive and recover from treatment.
Students came to school in Footy, Sports and House Colours and raised almost $600, making this our most successful free-dress fundraiser for 2022. Students and staff also battled it out in a range of footy activities on the oval.
