We have received the NAPLAN results of our year 3 and 5 students, and we are so proud of every one of our students who took part. They each made great use of their time and tried their very best. Some very pleasing growth was made in Reading in particular! We look forward to sharing more results as we unpack them in the coming weeks.
Our students recently took part in this week-long event and loved every moment of it! They showed great mastery of number facts and were extremely focused in each task. We will think about adding it to our resources for 2023.
Harry Laing, our guest author, was a great hit with teachers and students alike. He performed several very funny children's poems for us at a morning performance on Wednesday, engaging the students and adults in rapping, chanting, riddles and performance. Throughout the day, students from Years 3-6 had one hour sessions working with Harry, who inspired all kinds of poetry creations from topics like Elemental People, My Strange Pet, Rapper Bee, sound poems, verb poems and 'Dreams of an Inanimate Object". The students were so engaged in their writing- laughing and learning all day long. Harry based his teaching and performance on his three published children's poetry books which are Rapper Bee, Shoctopus and Moon Fish.
