Acting Principal's Message

Diverse ~ Accepting ~ Inclusive Community

Dear Parents, Families and Friends,

Week 6 of Term 3 is always a highlight of the year when we see the culmination of the amazing acting, dancing and singing skills of our students developed over eight months of rehearsals.

This year, the performance of Matilda Jnr. The Musical was an exceptional example of the wide-ranging talents of our students and staff. In his 22nd SPC musical, Head of Creative Industries, Steve Kidd (Producer/Director), credits his professional staff team consisting of Michelle Fleming (Director/Choreographer), Ed Nicholson (Musical Director/Conductor) Kristina Kidd (Set and Costume Designer/Vocal Director), Nicole Evans (Assistant Director), Tiana Bateman (Production Manager) Maali Kidd (Choreographer), Peter Gilham (Assistant Musical Director) and Natasha Bartlett (Stage Manager) for the high energy and enthusiastic performance.

A very big thank you to Tammi Renshaw, Kirran Dietrich, Jill Hu and Lily Widya Astuti for providing the delicious meals before the show. They were ably assisted by members of the Parents’ and Friends’ Association who helped serve and provided the delicious, sweet treats before the show and during intermission. The front of house staff, Lisa-Marie Burgoyne and Joey Klarenbeek, did a superlative effort in the decoration of the foyer and management of the ticket collectors, lift operators, programme sellers and ushers on each night. A special mention to Graham Schmidt and Michele Turk too.

Next week, we will be hosting our College Patron and Her Honour, the NT Administrator, Vicki O’Hallaran. She will be looking at the newly developed Year 12 outdoor area and the design and grounds for our Discovery Centre. Her honour will also attend our Reading Week Assembly.

Year 12s have three more weeks to complete their school-based assessment and may be feeling overwhelmed by their tasks. I encourage parents, families, and friends to support them to complete all tasks to the best of their ability.

Kind regards,
