Year 9 Morrisby Assessments

Our Year 9 cohort have spent the past week completing the Morrisby Assessments.

This valuable tool is designed to help them learn more about themselves - their values, preferences and skills - giving them a better understanding of where their strengths lie.

These personal insights help open-up a variety of possible career pathways, specifically tailored to who they are and also gives students a greater understanding about future subjects that match their abilities and interests.

Monash University 'Discover' Events

Monash University holds a range of events for secondary students during the year.  These events have been developed for prospective students, giving them the opportunity to explore options and pathways and find out what campus life is really like.  Current students and staff are on hand to provide information and answer questions relating to study at Monash.  If you think Monash University may be somewhere you would like to study after Yr 12 completion, click on the link to see what is available.

Apprenticeship and Traineeship Organisations

A number of students speak to us regarding apprenticeships and traineeships.  Both these options allow a student to work and study simultaneously.  They exist in a very wide range of areas such as Automotive, Building and Construction, Business, Engineering, Hairdressing, to name a few.  Students completing Apprenticeships/Traineeships gain a nationally recognised qualification, whilst at the same time gaining on-the-job knowledge and experience.  Apprenticeships may take up to four years, traineeships vary, usually around one year.

We often refer students to two organisations we have worked with over a number of years.  Both organisations usually have positions around our area (from Dandenong to Warragul) and feedback from past students, who have used their services, has been very positive.  There are many other reputable organisations in the sector, and it is up to individuals to pursue which organisation works best for them.
