Student Leadership

The College Student Leadership model has changed for 2023 to include Vice Captains and Prefects. During a Leadership Inauguration Ceremony held on February 13th, our College leaders were officially announced all presented with badges.

College Captains

The first two students to be presented were our College Captains, Molly Rist and Lachlan Clarke. This is what they had to say:

Throughout our time at Heathmont we have always admired the work that previous school captains have achieved, and we knew that we wanted to apply if the opportunity arose, and so when the applications came out we weren’t going to miss the chance to be school captains ourselves.

During this experience Lachie and I both want to further our leadership skills, and continue to stand by and stand up for our values and beliefs. We both feel very strongly about being a person who anyone feels as though they can approach for support, any concerns, ideas and honestly just for a chat.
We both are going to do all that we can to make sure no one feels alone, and do our part to enhance the Heathmont collage community in any way we can.

Vice-Captains

Next were the Vice Captains that link to our College Values of curiosity, compassion and community:

Claire Johnson – Claire’s role as a vice captain will be support curiosity. She will encourage everyone within the Heathmont community to have a desire to learn more and inspire feelings of hope and positivity through growth.

Marlon Arndt - Marlon will focus on the value of compassion, to bring awareness and response to the suffering of others, as caring for mental health will be an important aspect of his role. Marlon hopes we can help reduce the stigma surrounding these conditions and continue developing our caring and inclusive community.

Jessica Leb - Jess’s role as vice-captain is to not only build a strong community network through our college, but to maintain a safe space to ensure all students to feel comfortable and that they belong.

Prefects

The following students have been named as our College Prefects, who will drive school improvement in an area that they’re passionate about.

Charlie Knutsen – Charlie will be your performing arts leader this year and will be working behind the scenes to help organise music nights, performances and other arts events.
