Important Parking Information at Oxford Falls

As we begin another term of weekend sport at Oxford Falls, I would like to give an important reminder to all parents and caregivers of being respectful of our neighbours at our Oxford Falls campus.

Please ensure that you follow road and parking rules in and around Dreadnought and Spicer Roads, including parking in appropriate areas and also following advised speed limits.

Council Rangers are aware of this situation and have increased their patrols in this area.

Please note that parking in the C3 Church grounds is not permissible.  There are multiple signs indicating that it is a one-way road, with 'wrong way' signs up in place.  As it has been noted that parents have been breaching this one-way direction on these grounds, the C3 Church are clearly concerned for the safety of their community.

Please respect this expectation and only park in designated areas and follow all directions when parking, for the safety of all our Oxford Falls community.

Mr Mark Casey - Deputy Principal

From the Senior Sports Master

It was great to see students participating with gusto at last week’s Senior Swimming Carnival.  House spirit was definitely at the fore and students showed much enthusiasm despite the weather.

At last Friday's Sports Assembly we were pleased to announce that Treacy House won the Carnival.

The points were as follows:

Treacy: 947

Purton: 915

Rice: 850

Barron: 709

Congratulations once again to Treacy House and their house captain, Lucas Hamill.

ISA Round 9 – 1st XI 7/224 defeated Oakhill College 6/127 @ Oakhill College Main Oval

SPX 7 for 224 (Manas Bansal 62 not out, William Pavely 53, Patrick Frost 51, Darcy Aylmer 50). Oakhill 6 for 127 (Flynn Pavely 2 for 8)

The 1st XI travelled to Castle Hill for their Round 9 fixture on a steamy, energy sapping day. Captain, Joel Austin won the toss and batted first. Despite the loss of an early wicket, the batsmen did their jobs very well with four scoring half centuries. Opener Pat Frost did not let the early lack of strike distract him and he soon picked up the run rate; Will Pavely batted responsibly and kept the scoreboard ticking over well; Darcy Aylmer got off the mark with a six and never looked back in an enterprising innings, while Manas Bansal was busy at the crease and finished off a well-paced innings in style to be undefeated. Early wickets to the dependable Jesse Mansbridge and Mitch McGrath set the home team back. Flynn Pavely was the pick of the 1st XI bowlers with an economical and testing eight overs in which he conceded just 8 runs taking two wickets. Oliver Freeman combined well with Darcy Aylmer to stump the Oakhill top scorer as storm clouds gathered. Fellow spinner Manas Bansal captured a wicket and when lightening caused the stoppage of play, the 1st XI was well ahead on run rate. With 10 overs left, the game was called off and an impressive win was achieved in a very good team effort set up by the batsmen.

NSTA Tennis

With blue skies, a very slight breeze but hot sun, we began the day. Thank you to Rory Cooper, Ryan Fong, Izaac Tan and Lucas Halim for umpiring and mentoring the Junior players. It is great to hear the senior boys say they really enjoy helping out and watching our younger players. I know that the younger boys appreciate the help from the older boys too. The doubles match between SPX 32 (Lucas Ma and James Ulevik) and SPX 29 (Ethan Roman and Oliver Williams) was a very close one with SPX 32 winning the match 7-6. Isaac Cheng and Kayden Foo’s singles also came down to the wire with Kayden coming out on top. Thank you to Sebastian Dal Molin for playing for Team 22, his opposition.

Our 10.00 am games started with a bang and the heat ramped up. The boys fought hard in all matches and excellent sportsmanship was shown by all players. Our top 2 teams went head to head, with Izaac Tan and Lucas Halim – SPX 1 winning 3 sets to 0. Jake Yu, Boston Bannister and Adrian Yip blitzed their match winning 6-1, 6-1, 6-2. The Higgins brothers – SPX 11 were also a formidable team on the court winning 2-3.

A quick reminder to all parents to make sure that you are at the end of your son’s match for pick up to ensure that the convenors can also leave in a timely fashion.
