April 5th - AFLX Competition

Hat-trick Highlight

During the holidays Bailey Beecher experienced a hat-trick whilst playing for Thorpdale-Raiders in C Grade against Latrobe. Bailey ended with 3/6 off 2.5 overs, as Thorpdale-Raiders eveentually won by 6 wickets. Perhaps fittingly, the hat-trick was taken at the home of former Australian fast bowler Petter Siddle - still the last Australian to take a Test hat-trick.

Well done Bailey, we can't wait to watch you achieve great things!

Around the Grounds

Connor, Jackson, Liam and Ethan joined the Moe Golf Club.

Moe Meteors U16 boys had a thrilling 2-point win in the semi-final against Dandenong at the Eltham-Dandenong tournament.

Darcy Connell swam in the 2023 Victorian Country Championships at Wangaratta. He qualified for 7 individual swims and 4 relays. Darcy won a silver medal in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.41seconds. Darcy also won 2 bronze medals for 2 of his relays, as well as had great PB’s in his other swims. Well done Darcy!

Cooper Belsham represented Vic Country Bushrangers where they took out bronze.

Kye Micallef played cricket, representing the Central Gippsland U13s for Latrobe Valley over the summer.

Both James Burke and Angelo Abuan played in the U16s squad team 2 at Eltham-Dandenong tournament. They made it to the semi finals where unfortunately they were knocked out. James scored 35 points and Angelo scored 29 in the first 5 games.

Riley Morehu, Virginia Daley, Holly Reaper and Noah Smith played the Australian Country Championships.

Congratulations to 12-year-old Campbell Moncrieff for making the Cricket U15 Junior Country Week. Massive achievement!

Holiday Activities

Over the holidays Maxwell Plummer played in a men’s open NRL League Touch competition held at Comely Banks Recreational Reserve in Officer every Friday night. The team made it to the elimination round, where they were defeated by the overall champions of the competition. Max has signed up to play Rugby League for The U16 Pakenham Eels. This will be Maxwells fourth consecutive year playing Rugby League.

Collingwood Football Club Visit

We were recently lucky enough to receive a visit from Collingwood Football Club as part of their Community Camp. The visit included a training session with our AFL Sport Academy students, followed by a Q&A session, signing and some photos!

Nutritionist

Our Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 Sports Academy Students are booked in to receive a 20-minute consultation from our Nutritionist Danielle Purvis this term!
