From the Management Team

It’s hard to believe that the end of the school year is upon us. In many ways this year feels like lots of different years in one - with the landscape of the year looking so different from start to finish.

Can you believe that we started the year with most of our group gatherings still being restricted to online events? Parent access to the College was very restricted, students and staff were still wearing masks and rates of infection were high in our community with many needing to take leave and daily RAT testing was quite normal for most staff. Indeed, it has been a very hard year on staff, students and families. While COVID-19 continues to impact us, there is a significant level of normality returning to our daily lives including school life. Large-group gatherings are normal again and it has been so great to be able to invite parents along to the multitude of events we host where we can celebrate the lives of Endeavour students together. Our recent Valedictory Service was an example of a community coming together and celebrating a significant milestone for our graduating class - the end of formal Secondary education. Speaking with many families, we reminisced about the challenges along the way, the support received and the perseverance we all showed to reach the occasion. It was a celebration of a community who pulls together during good times and hard times to pour into the lives of ‘our’ children. While this year has certainly been one of the hardest of my career, I can also say that I have never felt more supported by a community who has looked to pull together. It has been a true blessing and a testimony to the trust we place in each other. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for continuing to make this great community your choice to immerse your child or children at Endeavour. We are fortunate to have you as partners.

When I met with educators across a range of sectors recently, I was reminded of the massive upheaval of staff across all schools and, while Endeavour has its share of staff moving on to a range of different opportunities next year, I am excited by the educators we have secured to continue to provide first rate opportunities in 2023 and beyond. Our commitment to finding and creating great teachers is alive and well.

I want to express my gratitude to all staff this year for their commitment and dedication to their work. We are blessed to have hard working and skilled educators working at Endeavour. For those that are moving on, we take this opportunity to thank them for their significant service and send them with our richest blessings. We know Endeavour will always be a part of their heart.

For those families who are leaving us, thank you for placing your trust in us for the time you have spent at Endeavour. We hope that you take away with you fond memories and that your transition into new environments is smooth.

Finally, I wanted to wish our community every blessing as we approach this most special time of the year; the birth of Jesus. His birth is indeed a celebration and I pray that all families have a wonderful opportunity to mark this significant time of the year together in your own way. May you find rest and peace over the break.

Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all again in the new year.
