Year Adviser Updates

Years 7 - 9

Year 7

What an amazing term we've had, Year 7!

Who could believe we had finished one year of high school so soon! I am so proud of our whole grade for the progress we have made this year. Our successes were recently celebrated at our Presentation Night and our Formal Assembly. These were fantastic events where Year 7s were recognised for their phenomenal efforts this year. Congratulations to all Year 7s who achieved academic awards. I'd like to especially acknowledge Annabelle Chau and Thien Phan who were awarded the Deputy Principal's award by Mr McCabe. Annabelle and Thien both embody our school values of academic excellence, equality, respect and safety every single day and are fantastic representatives of our grade.

This term, our grade has been involved in so many fantastic events and programs - too many to list! Our Year 7s have participated in the Wellness with Bec program, the RAGE program, Souths Cares, West Tigers Harmony Unites program, the Shining Stars Showcase and the fabulous School Spectacular shows! This list goes on and on. So many opportunities for our fantastic kids to show off and develop their skills.

I cannot wait to see what next year, Year 8, holds for our grade and Mr Sanchez and I look forward to working with our students and families as our journey continues. I wish our whole school community a happy and safe end of year break!

Happy holidays, JBHS!

Year 9

2022 has been such a busy and eventful year for all. We had the pleasure of acknowledging a number of students this term for their hard work, dedication and upholding the school values. Students were awarded Achievement and Merit awards at the school formal assembly.  Academic and other prestigious awards were presented at the school presentation night that was held at Liverpool Catholic Club. Congratulations to all of the award recipients.

Earlier in the term Year 9 students were invited to attend the Fast Forward program hosted by Western Sydney University. The program was called “Rise to the Challenge” students took part in a variety of workshops and saw what life in university would be like.

To end the term on a positive note, we organised fun activities for the Year 9 cohort to recognise their continuous effort and hard work throughout the term. It was pleasing to see our students interacting and participating in all the activities organised. It was pleasing to see that students had lots of fun and an enjoyable afternoon as a year group.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish every member of the James Busby High School community a safe and restful break. We are really excited to see what 2023 holds and we look forward to welcoming your children after the holidays.
