Year 8 Spelling Bee

On Wednesday 16th November, Year 8 students participated in the first Spelling Bee that JBHS has hosted. Congratulations to the following students on placing in the 2022 Competition:

1st Place = Justin Barrientos 8A ($200 gift card)

2nd Place = Lubna Samra 8A ($100 gift card)

3rd Place = Nikau Jones Boyd 8A ($50 gift card)

1st Runner Up = Edson Singh 8A ($30 movie voucher)

2nd Runner Up = Joshua Morenito 8B ($30 movie voucher)

3rd Runner Up = Layla El Arnaout 8A ($30 movie voucher)

Year 10 PBL

On Friday 16th December, Year 10 English students gathered for their PBL competition in the hall. Students had been working hard designing and creating a 3D model of a female monster, to include in the gothic tale, ‘Frankenstein.’ 

Classes had to work together to write an alternate ending to the story that featured their new female monster character. 

Thank you to our competing classes and their teachers 10A- Ms Phan, 10B Mr Khan, 10C- Mrs Champion & 10D- Mrs Khan. 

Thank you also to our judges and visiting classes- Mr Timar, Ms Diep & Ms Welfare. It was close, but 10C WON! Students that contributed significantly to the project in 10C will be treated to a $10 canteen voucher in the New Year.
