Principal's Report

Dear parents and carers,

As another year draws to a close, I’d like to thank you all for your continued support of our school. The most important thing that can happen to a child’s education is that we work together to resolve issues, celebrate achievements and send clear messages about school being about one thing – EDUCATION. This is when we see genuine improvement for students.

At times 2022 has thrown us a few curve balls, but the most spectacular thing I have repeatedly witnessed this year is the over and above attitudes of our staff and student leaders. The ‘can-do’ mindset in our staff and students is simply astonishing to witness. They embody our values of Academic Excellence, Equality, Safety and Respect. In particular, our wellbeing ambassadors and student leadership team have acquired the skills to teach others to embody these values. This spreads capacity in others and contributes to the ongoing building of a Positive Behaviour Culture in our school. This culture is beginning to permeate classrooms, the playground and the choices that individuals make every day.

2023 will see a focus on all staff and students aligning teaching, learning, choices and actions to the practices within a mindset of Leading Managing Doing. The principles within this ensure that our values are realised by all, that we bring an inclusive, calm, caring and respectful attitude to all we do, we manage our choices and actions and think about the impact that those choices and actions have others and we put into action what we say we will do.

Leading: We are all leaders. Lead what you own. Lead your learning and the examples you set for others.

Managing: Manage your mindsets (your actions/choices) and contribute to a positive behaviour culture at our school.

Doing: Do what is expected always. Turn your goals into action and truly accomplish what you set out to achieve.
