Music Update
Interesting music fact: 'Children who study music tend to have larger vocabularies and more advanced reading skills than their peers who do not participate in music lessons' Arete Music Academy
Marimba Fundraising Update
We did it!! Through the generosity of our community we have raised enough funds to purchase a marimba. A huge thank you to all of the people and families who have donated to the event and also to those who have supported the music program through the purchase of tickets to events or the sausage sizzle. And a particular thanks to Charlotte Dickinson who drove the whole event. We are now waiting for it to arrive.

ORIENTATION DAY PERFORMANCES
Junior Concert Band finished the musical year at EMC with a great performance at the beginning of Orientation Day for the 2023 Year 7 students. The students performed a number of pieces under the guidance of Mr Parsons as the Year 6's were gathering in the auditorium.
This was followed at the end of the day by Lily Buckley and JJ Robinson who performed a guitar and vocal duet.
Congratulations to all students who performed on Orientation Day and gave the Year 6's a taste of what is available when they come to EMC in 2023!
