A message from School Captain, Lochie

Gracie, Bel, Lochie and Evan

Hi CHPS!

It’s Lochie, one of your F A V O U R I T E School Captains here!

Wow, what a year it has been for all of us. Camps, excursions, the Fair… so much has happened, and it went by soooo fast! It’s been a wild ride for everyone, and it’s really sad that we have to leave you all this year!

Sometimes, I wish that Clifton Hill could also be a high school as well. That would make everyone’s life so much easier, right? But, I also think about change. And that change is a good thing. It’s good to move forward in life and meet new people and grow up.

A couple of extra special, thank yous on behalf of the other school captains and the year 6 students.

  • To the year amazing Year Six teachers. It’s been a blast hanging having you teach all of us.
  • To Roz, literally the reason why I come to school every day. Thank you for letting me help you with everything and for being my favourite teacher since the moment I stepped into your classroom.
  • To Megan, Susan, Nerida and the rest of the school leadership team. Thank you for making the school a better place every day.
  • To Jamie and Sally, the most amazing librarians out there.
  • To Nia and Di, the most amazing admin. To Bec, the best sports teacher. Thank you for teaching us all sorts of skills and being so organised (and also what Choukball is).
  • To all the staff who are leaving the school this year, you have all been such an amazing addition to the team, and we are sad to see you all go!
  • To the year fives who formed the ‘Lochie Fan Club’. You’ve all made me laugh so hard this year.

To the Class of 2022, the best cohort out there. We’re all going to different places next year. We are going to miss each other, but hopefully we can all still hang out! And, of course, thank you to our tissue boxes so I could have a good cry while writing this.

If you ever miss my voice (which you will!), you can listen to my podcast: Tedblast! By DJ Ted! There will be new episodes every two weeks, so don’t miss out!

Thanks to all the school captains who worked hard this year with teachers to make this school even better - Belinda, Evan and Gracie.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has It’s been an amazing year and an honour to be one of your school captains this year. I can’t wait to see what happens to this school in the future.

From Lochie.
