Principal's Report

Message from the Principal
The Autumn leaves are greeting us now as we enter the school which highlights the great start we have had commencing a new term. The students are all re-energised and enthusiastically sharing their holiday adventures and experiences.
Term overviews will be sent out this Friday, so please read them carefully and utilise them to support your child's learning at home throughout the term.
We are keen to have more parent helpers at school this term. Please email your child's class teacher if you would like to help at any time during the day.
Before and After School Care is still operating every day during the term. Please register your child if you need to use this valuable service. Register your child
It was wonderful to commemorate ANZAC Day at the Dawn Service at Halliday Park, Mitcham with so many of our school families. Our school choir sang beautifully and represented St John's with great pride. Thank you to our school leaders, for their participation also. Sophie read an Anzac poem and Declan and Bartek laid a wreath on behalf of the school.
As a whole school community we held our own Anzac Prayer Service this morning in the Mary McKillop Space.
Marathon Club starts up again tomorrow morning at 7.45am for students in Years 3-6.
Our first school assembly for the term will be held next Monday. We are seeking your feedback on whether we continue to hold them in the afternoon or return to the morning. Please give us your feedback via this link. https://forms.gle/vENZHpb7Xy6jWzAM6

Visitors will then join us for morning tea at 10.30am in Mary Mackillop Space. We look forward to seeing you there.

Transition to Year 7
Year 6 parents received an email last week regarding enrolment procedures for government secondary schools, Year 7 in 2022. If you have already received confirmation of enrolment for your child in a non government school for 2022, there is no need to do anything.
