Teaching & Learning 6S

6S Learning in Term 2

This term was a little disrupted due to the return of remote learning however all students showed great resilience and responsibility for their learning. With the return to school we have been very busy completing assessments and celebrating our learning outcomes.

MUSICAL

We are well underway with our routines for our musical items and are practising regularly. We can’t wait until Term 3 to show our hard work.

STEM DAY

Stem day was exciting! We made catapults, raced balloons, made tech and set the record for how many dice could be held on a paper boat. Lola achieved the highest score resulting in a 6S win. Rye and Charlotte achieved the furthest catapult. A fun day enjoyed by all.

NUMERACY AND LITERACY

We practise our mental maths in numerous ways. Below is a game of  ‘Mabble’, a fun way to practise our skills.

We have been participating in Literature Circles this term. Students chose a book they thought looked interesting and joined students from other Year 6 classes to discuss and analyse the book. We are still working on this currently. Many students have made recommendations to other students to read the same book and explain why others should read it.
