Principal's Report

I hope everyone had a nice long weekend (staying within our 25km limit) and used it as an opportunity to reset ready for our last two weeks of Term 2.

We went Remote….Again!

I am very proud of the online work that was completed by teachers, students and parents at such short notice.  I totally understand the extra burden taken on by families during this time and the pressure this put onto your daily routines and relationships.

At least for now, we have children back where they belong and that is back to onsite, face-to-face learning!

Thanks for your support and understanding about the camps and excursions that have needed to be postponed during this time.  Michelle has been working overtime in the office to secure new dates for all of these!

Like everyone, I am desperately hoping more freedoms come our way very soon!

Good Luck, Welcome and Good Bye.

We (remotely) said good luck to Mrs Matthews and wish her all the best with the arrival of her second child.  Alyson Savory is replacing Mrs Matthews and we welcome her to the school.  However, Mrs Savory is no stranger.  She has joined our school council and is also a parent at LPS.  Mrs Savory unfortunately was only able to meet her class remotely last week and has now enjoyed meeting the class face-to-face this week!

It is with a heavy heart I make the announcement that Mrs Sue Le-Lievre will be retiring at the end of term.  Sue has been with LPS for many years and is highly respected by the community, her colleagues and the students she has inspired (especially in the Art room) over the years.  Sue will be taking some long service leave and officially retiring part way through Term 3.  It is a huge loss to the profession however it is time for Sue to be able to do the many things she loves outside of education.

Jenna Wilson has been successful in taking up the Art position until the end of the year. Jenna has been spending time with Sue in order to learn the ins and outs of the program, resources and students here at LPS.

Reports

A reminder that mid-year reports will be uploaded to SENTRAL on Thursday 24th June in the afternoon.  If you require assistance accessing SENTRAL please contact the office within the next week to avoid having to wait until Term 3 for assistance.

QR Code

It is mandated that all visitors register their presence on the school grounds utilising the QR codes at the front of the school.  If you don’t have your phone or cannot access the QR code please use the manual sign in system we have set up.  If you are unable to do either you are not permitted to enter the school grounds.

Have a great week,

Mark Moorhouse
