Netgoals

Netgoals is a pilot program taking place at the Mooroopna Campus and run by Netball Victoria. Every Monday and Wednesday at lunchtime students have been participating in learning, not only netball skills, but team work, resilience and leadership. Many students have developed friendships by being involved in the program.

We were fortunate to have Mwai Kumwenda( MJ) from the Melbourne Vixens visit the group on Wednesday 19th May. She told her story of growing up in Malawi not wearing shoes until she was 15 years old and making her own netball from melting plastic, she is amazing! Playing netball has enabled her to buy her mother a house in Malawi and support young women in her village.

The students also travelled to Melbourne on Sunday 23 May to watch the Melbourne Vixens  and Sydney Giants play. They had a great time, being spoilt by Netball Victoria with scarves, beanies and food vouchers, along with meeting some of the players after the game and having sensational seats! This was a great experience for the students who attended, some of which had never been to a state netball game.
