Girls Netball

The Girls netball team from Highvale were ready and good to go! We boarded the bus, which was quite delayed, and reached Holy Family. Like us, Holy Family had Grade fives and sixes. Highvale played hard, but still the other team was scoring. The players were tall and intimidating, in some of our opinions. Especially the Holy Family’s goal defence. Our team rotated positions every quarter, with Enzuo as our captain, and our first quarter’s Centre. Sarah and Mia also had the opportunity for Centre. At the end of the game, Highvale hadn’t scored. We lost, 0 to 16. Better luck next time Highvale!

Mixed Netball

On Friday the 7th of May, the 5/6 Winter Interschool sports Mixed Netball team, strode out onto the Highvale netball court, ready for a home game against Holy Family Primary School.

Throughout the game it was clear that Holy Family were switched on and ready to win. There were excellent passes by Sahana, great commitment by Krish, significant teamwork by Zhi Han and, our outstanding goal shooter, Kiara, scored all of our goals.

Towards the conclusion of the game, the results were an unfortunate 2-8, in Holy Family’s favour. But, at the end of the day, we had all tried our best and had fun too!

Better luck next time Highvale!

Volleystars

Hi I’m Sheila, I am 1 out of 14 people in the Volleystars group. Today for Interschool Sports we went on a bus, all the way to Holy Family Primary School. Soccer Rounders and Girls Netball joined us but AFL and Mixed Netball stayed at Highvale. We did two games of Volleyball. Unfortunately we lost 1 set to 2. The first set was by 2 points and the third set by 5. But overall some people were really good at catching and setting the ball. I remember Alicia had thrown the ball over 5 times and we won all the points. Ariyon and Austin caught balls that were very hard to catch. Better luck next time Highvale.

Kickball

The Highvale team walked on to the basketball court ready to play some Kickball. There were some amazing kicks and catches but we lost 22-23. Thanks Mrs Christou for helping us with umpiring and scoring. Better luck next time Highvale!

Mixed Netball

“Yeah, go Highvale!” screamed Savi and Jacqueline. Highvale was on the move, they had the ball and…..THEY SCORED! Altogether Highvale scored 2 and Holy Family scored 14 but everyone had a great time. Better luck next time Highvale!

Mouth guards for hockey during P.E.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Students in Year 3-6 will be engaging in a 4 week program delivered by Hockey Victoria over the coming weeks. Students will learn the skills and techniques associated with hockey and will work towards participating in a game-based scenario at the duration of the program.

Students who already own a mouth guard are encouraged to bring it to PE lessons.  Please note that mouth guards are not compulsory. If you would like to purchase a youth mouth guard, they are available from most chemists.

Thanks,

Michelle Hayward & Natalie Yencken
