Help your school community engage with mathematics

Evidenced-based research shows that when teachers and schools foster respectful relationships and engage with parents and carers in mathematics and numeracy, students' attitudes, engagement and success are enhanced.

Find out how you can help your school community engage with mathematics and numeracy using the Everyday Maths Hub.

We’ve created printed resources that will be translated into other languages to assist our Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities to increase their engagement with mathematics and numeracy.

Please share these resources with your parents and carers.

If you have any questions feel free to contact us via NSWMS@det.nsw.edu.au or on our Yammer Group. And we encourage you to sign up to our quarterly newsletter to hear what else is being delivered under the NSW Mathematics Strategy.

BUSH TUCKER GARDEN

On Thursday 27th May, we all had a wonderful day working in the Bush Tucker Garden. Students worked alongside Mr Ostini and Mrs Lane assisting with painting and planting throughout the day. Our Bush Tucker Garden contains various bush tucker plants and significant symbols of Wiradjuri and other Aboriginal lands. Thank you to all the amazing helpers from our community, our parents, Bunnings Warehouse, Gerald Power, Jason French, Kerrie & William Kennedy who volunteered their time and worked with us to create our vision. Also, a huge thank you to Jason Lowe who gave his time and worked with Year 11 Construction students during the day. The Bush Tucker Garden is an area for all students, Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to embed Aboriginal culture into their learning experience and provide an area to connect meaningfully to culture and the land.
