NAPLAN
NAPLAN
We would like to thank all of the Year 7 and Year 9 students for their participation in NAPLAN. Students on the whole demonstrated positive behaviour in and attitude towards the tests and managed any (minor) technical hiccups maturely and with patience. Thank you also to supporting parents for reiterating the positive purposes of NAPLAN for the students and for our school – NAPLAN informs not only our teaching to ensure we are meeting National expectations and standards but helps us identify students requiring support and extension. Thanks also goes to all teachers for their assistance and to our technical team.
NAPLAN Certificates of Achievement are being introduced for Year 9 students in 2021 by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. The certificates recognise Victoria’s Year 9 students who achieve a result in Reading and/or Numeracy that places them in the very top band of NAPLAN, as well as those students who significantly improve on their Year 7 results. The new certificates celebrate those who achieve the highest level and those who excel by making exceptional progress, irrespective of where they start. The certificates aim to motivate students to bring their best efforts to the NAPLAN assessments.
