Sports Update

Senior Girls Football

The first event of the term 2 sporting calendar kicked off on Thursday May 13 with our Senior Girls Football team.

The girls battled blustery conditions and limited rotations on the bench which made for a long tiring day. Despite these factors the girls still played really well and were right in the competition until the last game of the day, facing off against Frankston High School for a chance at 1st place. The girls got off to a great start leading at half time, only to be overrun by Frankston who came home strongly with the wind in the last, going down 29 – 15.

Despite all the girls putting in solid performances, Head Coach Jess Wade gave special coaches mentions too:

Bests: Bec McLean, Maddi Staines, Jaeda Park, Taylah Hennekam, Jolie Brown

EMC won two games and lost two games and finished 3rd overall, great work senior girls!

EMC Athletics Carnival

Congratulations to all students that attended the EMC Athletics Carnival. The weather could not have been better for a day out with your friends and a bit of friendly sub school rivalry. Well Done to Kurunda who after suffering back to back losses in the Swimming Carnivals earlier this year, bounced back and claimed the EMC Athletics Day Trophy for 2021.

Across the day we had some awesome individual performances by a lot of our students who will now be representing EMC at the Northern Peninsula District Finals at Ballam Park on Friday 27th August.

Some of these individual performances also saw many of our previous EMC records broken.
