VCAL UPDATE

Year 11 VCAL update:

As part of their Personal Development classes, Year 11 VCAL students had to organise a community project that  benefits the school community.

Angus Edwards' project was the highlight as he facilitated training on how to run the EMC auditorium to a room of staff and students. Hopefully this takes the pressure of the few staff and students who previously knew how to do this. Well done Angus, you found a need and solved it.

Year 11 VCAL students also had the opportunity to listen to Jez who works within Youth Justice.  Jez spoke to the students about the Backtrack Boys documentary which they have been studying in Literacy. The students found it a very valuable experience to hear from someone working to make change.

Year 12 VCAL update:

As part of their Personal Development unit students have been working with organisations which offer support to people experiencing homelessness. Students are responsible for making connections with the organisations, putting applications through school council and attending a volunteer day. This week students have been working with their organisations showing outstanding communication and teamwork.
