Message from the Principal

Welcome to Week 4 Term 2

I send you all a big thank you for the work you are supporting your children with at home. I have been able to participate in Google Meets across the school and am so impressed by how all our students can now navigate their way around turning microphones and cameras on and off, talking confidently and sharing their experiences. One thing I do ask you to be aware of is the'chat' facility when using Google Meet. If you are sitting with your child when they are meeting, please ensure that this is used only to communicate about school work.

Please also know that some children have been 'chatting' without the supervision of a teacher by accessing links out of the scheduled meet time. Again, we ask for your close supervision of this to ensure your child is safe on line at all time.

Happy Mother's Day

On Sunday we celebrate the important women in our lives. I hope you will have a chance to celebrate as a family in one way or another. Your children certainly have some good IT skills if you need assistance with Zoom calls, Facetime etc.! I hope all our mums are spoiled by our wonderful children.

We are hosting our first whole school Google Meet this afternoon at 3pm if you are able to be with your child on their device at this time we will be celebrating all the important women in our lives.

There may also be a surprise for one lucky family! I hope you can join us at 3pm. Your child has been sent the link to click  to join this event.

I hope you enjoy these samples of art completed by our students as part of Art class this term.

O God, we ask You to bless all who ‘mother’ and bring new life in any way, these ‘mothers’ who teach and guide, who encourage and heal. Bless them today with all good things: with health, with laughter, with joy and with love, with pride in their ‘children’ and the support of many friends. May all ‘mothers’ who have nurtured life in others be themselves nurtured one day in Your strong embrace, there, for all eternity, to rejoice with their families and friends. Amen

Enrolments for 2021

Even during these different times, we are still open for enrolments. We know that the best form of advertising is our own community. If you know of anyone with a child due to start school in 2021, please let them know to visit our website

https://www.spclayton.catholic.edu.au/ or to call the office 9544 3032. We would love to talk to them!

Also, if you have a child turning 5 before 30 April 2021, don't forget to complete an enrolment form and put it in our mail box outside school or email the form to office@spclayton.catholic.edu.au.

Please stay safe and healthy this week.
