Dear Families and Friends
Since the Presentation Sisters announced the closure of Presentation College Windsor on the 29th July, we have not published an edition of the Lantern. The announcement has affected many people: current families and staff, past families, staff, alumnae, the many people who have experienced the love, welcome and hospitality of the PCW community over the years, and the people whose hearts have been touched by the generosity of spirit modelled by our foundress, Nano Nagle.
It is important to acknowledge the proud history this college has of educating women, not only now, but in times when women were not encouraged to continue with further studies. We are hopeful that the Presentation Tradition will continue to be honoured and fostered in the new educational precinct that is being considered for the area, and as planning of this unfolds, I will keep you posted.
In this edition of the Lantern, you will see a range of events and activities which have taken place since the beginning of term. They are shining examples of the things that take place at the College which excite and challenge our students - Presentation Week, Write a Book in a Day, subject selections, the Year 11 Retreat and Student Leadership speeches to name a few.
I invite you to be inspired by our young women and our community.
Warm regards
Filina Virgato
