From Your 2020 School Captains

Dear Families,

As the School Captains for 2020, we would like to take this opportunity to say our farewell and thanks.

It is a marvel we finally made it out of this spiral of the Coronavirus, and even crazier to think that the Year 6s are leaving COHR.

We have done everything together, and now as we celebrate this year ending and a new one beginning we will all remember the memories that we made together. We celebrated so many things at COHR including First Eucharist and Reconciliation and we just managed to fit in the celebration of Confirmation in the last weeks. Over the years we cheered each other on at sports day, we strutted the asphalt on Book Week parades, we had Fetes, Italian Days, Walkathons, Camps, Gala Days, swimming, and much, much more including too many assemblies to count!

During our time we have had two principals, three Deputy Principals, many teachers and lots of support. We have watched the whole school change as the new buildings and Library went up, and then when they were finally ready to move into, we were all at home.

We will remember all this, except for the global pandemic, that most of us want to forget. This year has been one to remember, from sitting on the classroom floor to sitting in front of a screen, back to sitting on the floor, in a social distancing manner of course.

Congratulations 2020 Graduates, after 7 years we have finally done it! We have clawed our way out of primary school, and are finally ready to begin the journey of secondary school. And although we are excited to leave, we will ALWAYS remember our time here. It has been a privilege to be your school captains for 2020, and we are both so thankful for your encouragement and support.

Before we finish we would like to say good luck to the 2021 leaders, we hope that they are at school for the whole year and that they have an amazing Year 6!

Thank you!

From your School Captains for 2020,

Xavier and Lana
