Principal's Report

Mr Graham Jones

We made it! Term 4, Week 10.

It feels as though we ran a marathon this year - a marathon that tested our endurance in many ways. During this marathon, it felt like we had to swim at times, crawl at times and at other times we were told to go back and start again but this time run backwards. Despite the difficulties we faced throughout the year we persevered and we have now reached the finish line.

Presentation Day

The annual presentation event last Thursday was a huge success with many students being recognised and rewarded for their hard work and high achievement. Despite the hall feeling a little empty, the event ran smoothly and was enjoyed by families and loved ones via the live stream. To ensure that all parents have photo's of their children with their awards a photo booth was set up and all award recipients had a professional styled portrait taken. All of these photos will be available to view on the Boorowa Central School website soon.

Year 6 Graduation and Formal

The Year 6 Graduation assembly on Monday was a very nice end to Primary school for our Year 6 students. Each student was recognised for this achievement and had their 30 seconds in the spotlight courtesy of the video created by the class teacher and Primary Assistant Principal Mr Jason Stuart. Due to the lower numbers, we were fortunate to have parents join us for this special event.

The students then celebrated the completion of Primary School with their Year 6 Formal on Tuesday night. The hall looked sensational with many decorations being erected and displayed to showcase the 'Out of Space' theme chosen by the students. The students and staff alike enjoyed an evening of entertaining speeches, good food and fine company.

Photos taken at both events will also be displayed on our website.

Mini-Olympics and Pool party

The last day of school for the students on Wednesday was a celebration of our inclusive nature as we created teams from K-12 and had them compete as 'countries' in a variety of tabloid vents at the Recreation Oval. Despite the hot and steamy conditions the Student Representative Council (SRC), led by Ms Armstrong, organised and ran a fun-filled morning that culminated in a water slide and sausage sizzle lunch. The students then headed to the pool to continue the fun in the afternoon before coming back to school to watch a movie. It was a great way to finish 2020.

And finally, I would like to wish all of our families and community members a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I am very much looking forward to a break with my family and an opportunity to leave the difficulties of 2020 behind.

School returns in 2021 on:

- Wednesday 27 January 2021 for staff

- Friday 29 January 2021 for students in Years 1-7 plus 11 and 12

- Monday 1 February 2021 for Kindergarten, Year 8, 9 and 10.

Enjoy your holidays and stay safe.
