A SURPRISE PREP WELCOME

I was very happy and excited to help welcome the new Prep students and their families to Murrumbeena Primary on their first full day of school last Monday. Whilst I was chatting to one of our new parents, we discovered a funny coincidence. Steph, I remember her as Stephanie, was also a Prep student at Murrumbeena Primary and started Prep in room 7, just as Alexander her son has started Prep in room 7 with Mr Woollan.

The coincidence continued because when we discussed her teacher we discovered it was me! I found my class photo and Steph is the 2nd child from the left, back row.

FROM THE ART ROOM

As art can often be messy, this is just a reminder that students do require an art smock that is named and fits them

Our uniform shop does sell a standard smock that provides good coverage of clothes and is also easy for children to put on.  Smocks of a similar style, but in different colours, can be purchased elsewhere e.g. Target, and are also good.

However, we do not recommend aprons, as the younger students have difficulties tying them up.

It would be great if you check that your child’s art smock fits, is clearly named and that your child can put it on and take it off without assistance.

Thank you

CANTEEN REMINDER- REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS

The MPS canteen operates Tuesday to Friday for lunch orders and is also open at recess and lunchtimes for students to buy icypoles and drinks.

Voluntary help in the canteen is a continuing high priority at the school.

The canteen is currently looking for assistance in serving students at lunchtimes, and, on Fridays, assistance is required for preparing lunch orders.

Any assistance, no matter how small, would be most welcome.

Please contact me or drop by the canteen or the school office-

Thank you
