LIBRARY STAFF

Our library is staffed by Mrs Eloise Harnett - Librarian (full-time), Mrs Ronda Wallwork - Library Assistant (Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri) and Mrs Melanie Jonsen - Library Assistant (Mon, Tues & Wed).

OPENING HOURS

Our library is open every day from 7.30am to 4.30pm. Students are most welcome to come to the library before and after school for quiet study. During 1st break senior students (Years 10-12) can come to the library. During the 2nd break all year levels are welcome to be in the library.

EXCITING NEWS - ALIA LIBRARY DESIGN AWARDS

We were very excited to hear over the Christmas break that our library had been nominated for the ALIA Library Design Awards. Voting closes shortly, so fingers crossed our beautiful library space will be recognised by ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association).

TEXTBOOKS

Library staff have been very busy preparing all staff and students with the resources they require for 2021. All students were issued with a physical copy of their textbooks in the first week. The majority of these textbooks will remain with the students until the end of the year; therefore it is important that they are cared for respectfully. In the event of any damage or loss, the replacement cost of the textbooks will need to be paid to the college office.

DIGITAL TEXTBOOKS

Students received an email from myself in Week One detailing how to access digital copies of the textbooks. Students can also access the websites and log in details from the Student Portal - Library (Oliver) App - News Tab. If you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to see library staff.

LIBRARY APP - OLIVER

The library has an App in the Student Portal which provides access to our online catalogue and other information. The Library App - News Tab also has information regarding plagiarism and referencing.

LIBRARY LESSONS

Students in Years 7 and 8 will visit the library every fortnight with their English teacher for a library lesson. During these lessons I will cover topics such as locating digital resources, plagiarism, researching skills and referencing. Students will also be given the opportunity during these lessons to borrow library books.

LIBRARY LOAN iPADS

The library has a fleet of loan iPads that can be borrowed by students if they have a broken device which is in for repair or they have forgotten to bring their device to school. The iPads can be borrowed in the morning and then returned by 3.15pm (they cannot be kept overnight or be removed from college grounds). To enable the collection of an iPad the students need to provide a note from either their parent or teacher.
