School Wide Positive Behaviour Support – Behaviour Matrix

School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is a whole-school framework that provides an approach to promote positive behaviour at school. It is an evidence-based approach to teaching students positive behaviour. Research has shown that SWPBS programs are successful in increasing positive behaviour, improving school culture, and increasing academic performance. Rewarding the behaviours we want to see is an important way of increasing their frequency.

This year our SWPBS Team will be rewarding students who receive high numbers of merit tickets for demonstrating the behaviours on our Staughton Student matrix. The matrix sets out expected positive behaviours for students in the following three key areas of learning, effort and respect.

The School Wide Positive Behaviour Support Team will be also rewarding students who obtain high numbers of merit tickets with award certificates.
