KSKK Visitors

Visitors from Japan

Our seven Japanese student visitors & their leader from KSKK are now back home in Japan, but Fairhills High School has left an indelible mark on them.

The girls' leader asked them before they left Japan, 'What image do you have of Australia?'  The girls replied with the usual 'Koalas & Kangaroos'.  She asked the same question at the end of the homestay and they answered 'the warm & kind people'.  So thank you to the wonderful host families who hosted them and everyone in the school community for welcoming them.

Our visitors did get to see koalas & kangaroos, meet the Mayor of Knox and shop until they dropped at Queen Victoria Market.

The girls were accompanied on some excursions by Nana, our Japanese Language Assistant, and Timo our German Language Assistant.  Timo was known to let out an 'Oh my' on seeing the panoramic view of Port Phillip Bay from Arthurs Seat.  The weather was kind to us, allowing the girls to walk on the sand at Seaford Beach.

Seeing all of this was an amazing experience for them, but the most amazing experience was the friendships made with host students and the students who will go to Japan in September.  Stay tuned for stories of that adventure in October.
