Diversity Week

Diversity Week @ FHS

As we all know, Fairhills High School is a very diverse school and it is important to our students that we celebrate our diversity and we accept each other.  One of the school’s key values is inclusion and we acknowledge that it is important that we accept all students and staffs differences, gender, sexuality, abilities, religion, nationality and position.

Between the 15th and 18th of August, we celebrated Diversity Week. This is a Fairhills High School Student Leaders initiative in its second year running. We organised a range of activities throughout the week to celebrate diversity, these included:

- an amazing race with a diversity theme

- diversity photo booth

- down ball competition

- special guest speaker Kate Wilde from workshop.com who spoke to year 7’s,8’s and 10’s about accepting each other

 - on the final day we celebrated the many different cultures of the school with the International Food Festival.

Once again Kate Arnott  from Knox Youth Services was pivotal in supporting the student leaders in running the week and we send a huge thankyou to her for all her efforts and energy. We hope that all students had fun and were able to spend the week celebrating our diversity.
