Strings and Choir

Acapellago and the String Ensemble combined forces to participate in the AMEB Online Orchestra, Australia’s largest online orchestra. This is an initiative of the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) which aims to be an inclusive music project regardless of musical ability, background and location. Last year, nearly 2000 individuals participated and it was a wonderful experience for the girls involved. This year the AMEB Online Orchestra Ambassador and conductor is Jessica Gethin, Chief Conductor of the Perth Symphony Orchestra. The students took advantage of the beautiful MGC grounds to film their performance of this year's entry song- "I Am Australian". All submitted entries will then be combined to create on impressive virtual performance of the song. The launch will take place on Tuesday 22 October at the Melbourne Conservatorium, Kenneth Myer Auditorium, Ian Potter Southbank Centre, University of Melbourne.  We cannot wait to share the video with everyone!
