NSWCCC Touch - Dubbo

by Anna Reed

On Tuesday the 24 May, five secondary students travelled and competed at the annual NSWCCC Touch Football Trials. These students included Jack Montgomery, Will Caccianiga, Daniel Brown, Chloe Brazel and Zoe Maunder. There were over forty teams from all across the state. The students had a great time and all competed extremely well. Congratulations.

A Student's Perspective: Zoe Maunder

I competed in the open girls' trials for NSWCCC, this means it was from Years 10 to 12. It was extremely hard, but also an amazing experience for learning more about touch. I played in the Armidale Diocesan team. Our team was made up of mostly McCarthy girls but also included Holy Trinity. I loved it and wished I could go back next year. I didn’t get to watch Chloe or the boys, but heard they played well.

Secondary NSW Netball Schools Cup

by Anna Reed

Yesterday, 30 May, forty students travelled to Narrabri to compete in the NSW Netball Schools Cup. All the students played extremely well and had a fantastic day showing off their sporting prowess.

Senior Girls

Tuesday was a great day of netball and all players participated with amazing sportsmanship. The senior girls won three out of their four games-exceptional effort! We played Wee Waa, Narrabri, Gunnedah and Moree Secondary College. Unfortunately we do not go to the next level in Tamworth. However, we look forward to playing with our strong team in future competitions.

Senior Boys

We played five smashing games on Tuesday. We had a solid defence and outstanding attack that challenged all our opponents. The boys went all out winning all games bar one.

Junior Girls

The Years 7/8 team of girls played exceptionally well against some tough opponents. They won one game, and lost four by very small margins. Great sportsmanship was displayed by every player throughout the day.

Junior Boys

The boys' team had a great day. We had some tough competition, however, we all played to the best of our abilities. Lots of sportsmanship was shown throughout the games. Overall, we are extremely happy with the day and the fact we won our division!
