Year 7

....from the Leader of Learning Year 7,

Mr Gavin Ferrier

It is fantastic to see Year 7 Students off to such a great start this year. Their involvement at the Swimming Sports was impressive, and we can’t wait to see them in action at interschool sports on Thursday March 22nd. It has also been great to see how many students have decided to be part of the Music Program, as well as take up other opportunities that the College is offering.

Year 7 Camp at Forest Edge is approaching very quickly. If you haven’t had a chance to put your forms in or make payments, please make contact with the school bursar. Students have been asked to select friends that they would like to share a cabin with, so please feel free to have a conversation with your child about this. It is important to remember that on the 19th of March, first day of Camp, students need to arrive to school on time, as buses will be leaving at 9am. On the 21st as we arrive home, buses will be back in time for the end of the school day. If there are any delays, we will post an update on Facebook, so keep an eye out on the Cheltenham Page.

After the camp, students will have an opportunity to elect Class Captains. In term two, each class will have two captains, and the process will involve a student class vote after speeches have been given. This process is done in the weeks following camp so that students have had a chance to get to know each other. If your child is wanting to be a class captain, please encourage them to be part of this, and assist them in preparing a speech on why they should be voted as captain.

If you have any future queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ring. If your child is in 7A, C, F or H please ask to speak to Marie Tsimilas. If they are in 7B, D, E or G, then please ask to speak to Amy Crilley.
