Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have been very busy this term so far. Our Kindergarten transition students have had a great time, joining the other classes for play and bonding with their future buddies. Our fantastic student writing was featured in the Land, and we have also been participating in many whole school activities. However, we still have plenty more events planned up until the end of the year.

School Photos

We will be having school photos next Tuesday 3 November.

Please ensure that your child comes to school dressed in their full summer uniform (Stage 1 PE and Health will be held in summer uniform) and that all order form envelopes have been returned.

Boys: blue short-sleeved shirt, grey shorts, grey socks and black shoes.

Girls: blue checkered dress or white polo shirt with blue checkered shorts/skort, white socks and black shoes.

World Teacher's Day

Today we celebrated World Teachers' Day to acknowledge the roles our teachers play in the lives of students, families and the community. We celebrated with a fantastic morning tea.

Catholic Mission Month

This month was Catholic Mission month, where schools across our diocese raised much-needed funds to support the work of priests and missionaries in Cambodia.

It has been great to see all of the students participating in our Mufti Days by dressing up in their favourite Jersey, coming to school in crazy hair and participating in the day's activities raising awareness for Cambodian children.

School Advisory Council AGM

We will be holding our Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 24 November at St Joseph's Primary School via Zoom.

An RSVP form will go out to all families next week via Compass.

NAIDOC Week

On Thursday 12 November, we will be celebrating NAIDOC week through a range of projects planned by myself and our Aboriginal Education Assistants. Students will be required to wear their sports uniform. We will be sharing stories, leading class activities, and working together to create a whole school art piece that Darcy Lang has planned.

It is a week to remember, as we celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Further information and photos of activities will be communicated via Facebook during this week.

Remembrance Day

On Wednesday 11 November, we will be having a modified recess, with a moment's silence at 11:00 am, to remember those who died or suffered for Australia's cause in all wars and armed conflicts.

Book Week Dress Up Day

We will be holding our Book Week celebrations next month. This is always a highly anticipated event, and we are looking forward to seeing the costumes and creativity of our students.

Students are invited to dress up as their favourite book character or in the theme Curious Creatures, Wild Minds.

Have a great weekend.

Kind Regards,

Alistair Stewart
