Procedural Texts

Procedural Writing Fun!

The Years One and Two students have just begun an exciting unit on writing procedural texts. So far we have learned that the purpose of a procedure is to teach somebody how to do something, and that it usually includes three parts: a title, a list of what you need, and a series of instructions.

You can support this unit of study by helping your child discover examples of procedures around your home. These might include things such as recipes, instruction manuals, game rules, and many more!
