Principal's Report

Are we through the worst of this Pandemic?

No more staggered start and end times

It is great to be able to share that from Week 5 (Monday 2 November), we will no longer have a staggered start and end time to our school day.

Students at school will still have staggered recesses.

All students must arrive, only between 8:45 - 9:00am and proceed directly to classrooms.

Where possible, students must enter the correct gate/entry point - YrF-2 front Dundas St main entrance & Yr3-6 through the Kindergarten entrance.

Foundation parents/carers only, are allowed on the school site still, for the foreseeable future.  Any other parent/cares, must report to the office area and register for tracing purposes still.

All other restrictions remain in place.  I will update any significant changes or announcements to our community, if it is safe and once confirmed by DET and the Minister.

I can't thank you all enough for your considered and ongoing support of what has been and continues to be a challenging year.

Keep smiling and being kind.

Whole School Assembly

This Friday 30 October, is a special Book Week, Whole School Assembly.

I again apologise for last assembly's malfunction with the video for the Writer's Festival - I am planning to get that file available to all families to view.

Thank you all for your support of our 'virtual' book fair.  We have had fabulous sales, which supports our school in purchasing additional new books for the classroom libraries.

Details for tomorrow's assembly are below and I hope to see you all online.

World Teacher's Day

This Friday is World Teacher's Day!

Unfortunately during remote learning times, we missed other significant celebrations for all our staff at the school and kindergarten.

This Friday I hope we can all pause to acknowledge the significant and crucial work all our educators, administration, support staff and teacher's do for our next generation of leaders.

It is often challenging and tiring work, but I am fortunate to lead such a committed, dedicated, skilled and passionate team.

Congratulations and enjoy World Teacher's Day team...!

Parent Opinion Survey (re-run)

WE WANT OUR PARENTS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents think of our school. The Parent Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, student engagement and experiences of remote and flexible learning. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

All parents will be invited to participate in this year’s survey. All responses to the survey are anonymous. This year, the Parent Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 19th October to Friday 13th November.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Last year we used the survey results to plan for our new School Strategic Plan 2020-2023, and this year's results will assist us in establishing our new school expansion site with students onboard, set up for success. Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.

I urge you to all provide feedback, it would be truly appreciated and valued.

I acknowledge the First People of the Wathaurong, who are the traditional custodians of the land and waters on which I work and live, and pay my respects to the Elders of the past, present and emerging.
