Year 7 students have been busily practicing their drawing, painting and mixed media skills this semester. They have learnt how to expressively draw and layer oil pastel and collage techniques to create an engaging portrait of a chicken, using the style of Joy Hester and Brett Whiteley as inspiration.
Students have also extended their expressive mark making abilities to create vivid landscapes that capture the beauty of the Australian outback through gestural marks and layering of warm colours.
Keep an eye out for our next project called ‘Mysterious Creatures’ where students will be practicing their ceramic hand building techniques to mould and shape a fusion of animals.
