Year 7 book reads
Book Club
The Year 7 Book Club had their latest session this week, with all Year 7 students receiving a brand new book. Students have the opportunity to 'speed date' their book in their Connect class, and can swap the book with their classmates if they'd like.
It is a rewarding sight to see a classroom full of students lost in a good book. We hope that the Year 7 Book Club can be a small stepping stone towards students becoming lifelong readers.

Miss Cupac and Mr Wilcox selected me and a few other Year 7 students to help out with the Year 7 Book Club. We went to the library to start our job, the librarians explained that we were going to be handing out brand new books to our fellow Year 7s! So off we went, with a big box in our hands, full to the brim with books.
As we reached our destination , the students were excited to see us. They were ready to get some new books for new experiences and stories. Grace Peters
In Connect class we all received a free book from the school that we could swap or change. We read the blurb on the back and we were able to see if it interested us. If we didn’t like the sound of the book, we were able to change the book and do a swap with our peers. It was great to keep a book and add it to our own libraries at home! Racquel Hughes
In Connect we went up to the Library to collect a box full of books. We had the job of handing out all the brand new books to all the different Year 7 Connect classes. My classmates got to pick a book of their choice. Some students swapped books with their classmates, and some students kept their book as they were happy with it. We made sure everyone in the whole class had a book to read and enjoy. It was so much fun handing out a brand new book to everyone in my grade! Mikayla Khushaba
